Homer AYEA (HAYEA)
![]() |
About UsThe Homer AYEA chapter was founded in 2002. We helped establish plastics recycling on the Kenai Peninsula, and we set up recycling at Homer High School. During the summer, we have a plot in our community garden, and in spring we clean up a popular trail in our area, the Coalition Trail, which we may adopt through the Kachemack Bay State Parks System. Our chapter participates in Trails Day each June. We visit schools in Homer and throughout the Kenai Peninsula educating youth on recycling and global warming. The Kachemak Bay Conservation Society co-sponsors our chapter, and we have worked with KBCS as well as Cook Inlet Keeper, the Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies, and other groups on oil and gas issues and environmental education in the region. This year we will continue our work on recycling and participate in AYEA's 3-2-1 Campaign to combat global warming through personal actions |
