Mount Edgecumbe AYEA (MEAYEA)
![]() |
About UsWe founded the Mount Edgecumbe AYEA chapter in 2004. Located in Sitka, the Mt. Edgecumbe High School population represents 120 Alaskan communities. MEAYEA is very active! We organized a Recycling Awareness Week in the spring, and in 2005 we traveled to 10 villages and cities to educate our peers about global warming. Over 15 communities can be represented at a time at a MEAYEA meeting, and at almost all meetings, every region of Alaska is represented. Our future plans include obtaining our school's Green Star certification and working on AYEA's 3-2-1 Campaign to combat global warming through personal actions |
