The BLM (Bureau of Land Management) Wildlands Campaign is a statewide program focused on ensuring key habitat and areas of critical environmental concern (ACEC's) are designated as such under the BLM Regional Management Plans. The Bureau of Land Management is in the process of developing regional management plans for over 90 million acres of land BLM land throughout Alaska. The BLM Wildlands Field Representative will work closely with communities in the regional planning areas to assess community values in relation to BLM lands, build relationships and trust among community leaders and stakeholders, and ensure community input and adequate participation during the NEPA planning process. The BLM Policy Analyst will review and analyze NEPA documents, develop comments and recommendations for BLM planners and decision makers, and educate and solicit input from allied interests. The Field Representative and Policy Analyst will work together to identify long-term solutions for critical areas based on community feedback and environmental concern. Ideal candidates will have experience with environmental campaigns, strategic planning, Alaska land management issues, and NEPA.
